OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma prosecutor is dropping a murder charge against a 15-year-old who was accused in the fatal shooting of another teenager at a high school football game. Carter died after being shot in August during the Del City-Choctaw high school game in Choctaw on the eastern outskirts of Oklahoma City. One was a 42-year-old man who Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III said was shot by one of the two off-duty Del City officers who accompanied the Del City team to the game. Both of those officers were placed on paid leave, Del City police Chief Loyd Berger said at the time. A Del City police spokesperson did not immediately return a message Saturday for comment on the status of the Del City officers.

CNN —Four-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka is set to return to tennis at the Brisbane International less than six months after giving birth. “I am really excited about getting back out on court and competing,” the 26-year-old Osaka said. “I always love starting my season in Brisbane and can’t wait to return. Two of Osaka’s four grand slam titles have come Down Under, her most recent victory coming in 2021. Osaka said in an interview with ESPN last month that she intends to play a busy schedule in 2024.

Osaka subsequently pulled out of the French Open that year and revealed she had “suffered long bouts of depression” since winning her first major championship in 2018. Alongside a photo announcing her pregnancy, Osaka wrote: “These few months away from the sport [have] really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to. “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future,” she added. “One thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom.’”
